Our romantic little hide-aways are quiet, private, off-grid, a wonderful view across the lake to the sea beyond, and the hills up behind you, and we hope you'll love them.

The Outlook

NEW

Welcome to our brand-new cabin, inspired by the much-loved “Lookout Cabin.” Designed for two, it offers the same cosy charm and stunning views, with the added bonus of giving you more availability to plan your stay.  Our new cabin promises comfort, tranquillity, and a chance to experience the beauty of Northumberland in larger groups.

The Lookout

Stunning Northumbrian coastline, the Farne Islands, Holy Island, St. Cuthbert’s Way, St Cuthberts Cave, national bike routes nearby. Village of Belford 3miles. Relax by the cosy log burner or outdoor fire pit with a bottle of wine, soak up the views and the dark night skies around you.

Our Story

My husband’s family have farmed here since 1953. We have 380 acres of mostly grassland and we look after sheep and cattle belonging to our neighbours.

Explore the area

Greymare Farm is in a truly beautiful position on the spectacular Northumberland coastline, in an award winning dark sky area for stargazing, and we are so lucky to call it home.

The cabin is in a secluded setting close to St. Cuthbert’s Way and has a clear view over the lake to the coast. It has easy access to the A1 and lots to visit nearby. The cabin is cosy and compact, beautifully fitted out with all you need for a few days away. We were contacted by Georgie soon after arrival to check we had settled in and all was well. Highly recommended for a break from city life with the chance of seeing some stars.

Stunning location and views - the photos can't do it justice! Blissfully quiet, felt a whole world away from reality. The location itself is a perfect base for Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. The cabin itself was lovely, very clean, and exceptionally well equipped. The tea was especially welcome as we forgot ours! We met Georgie briefly and she was exactly like her communucation with us - warm, lovely, and helpful. We mentioned forgetting binoculars and she dug some out for us! Beyond lovely.

We booked this as a honeymoon for a long weekend just after our wedding. It was the most beautiful location! We wanted a peaceful off-grid escape from our usual Manchester home and got exactly what we were looking for. Absolutely every single detail is thought out, we went short of nothing. Just when you think it may be short of something you'll find it! We used the grill on the front porch for several meals, got cosy on the couch to enjoy the real little log fire inside. Used the outdoor seating to star gaze and bird watch with the blanket provided! Such an amazing romantic break! Surrounded by nature and an excellent view of Lindesfarne and the East coast with some really easy going walks that circle right back to the cabin! 100% will be coming back for a summer weekend!
